The Department of Civil Engineering was started in the academic year 2009-10 with an aim of promoting high-quality education in the field of Civil Engineering. The department has well-equipped laboratory facilities and highly qualified faculty members having rich experience in teaching and industrial background.
The department is aiming to transform itself into a centre of excellence both in academic and research. The department provides the right kind of environment for the students to groom themselves for innovative and challenging near future.
The department takes the best possible efforts to provide its students with the right kind of ambience for their holistic development into future pillars of the nation and society.
To build the engineers as globally acclaimed technically educated professionals in civil engineering and in the allied fields with focus on inter-disciplinary and innovative approach for complete holistic, socio-economic and sustainable development.

Programme Educational Objectives (PEOs) of the department in tune with the Vision and Mission of the department are:
PEO1: Practice professional ethics in planning, design and execution of civil engineering systems / infrastructural development with a due consideration to socio-economic and environmental aspects.
PEO2:Carry out field investigations, design & demonstration of lab experiments and interpretation of the results by correlating with field data to meet the standards and sustainable development.
PEO3: : Engage civil engineering projects individually through the application of contemporary skills and work with team to carryout projects successfully using managerial skills.
PEO4: Combine the applications of basic sciences and engineering sciences with the state-of-the-art technology to address the societal concerns and socio-economic development.
PSO1: : Apply the knowledge of basic sciences, geology and environmental science along with the conceptual knowledge of engineering sciences to illustrate the process involved in planning, analysis and design of sustainable civil engineering systems.
PSO2: :Conduct laboratory experiments/field investigations, and analyze/interpret the experimental results for appropriate conclusions and recommendations to a real-world civil engineering problem with a significant perspective of economy, society and environment.
PSO3: :. Demonstrate professional ethics and implement the principles of project management, business and public policy to lead the project execution as per the design requirement, with the state-of- the-art technology and contemporary skills.
