Technical Education plays a vital role in human resource development of the country by creating skilled manpower, enhancing industrial productivity and improving the quality of life of its people. Sri Venkateswara Institute of Science and Technology (SVIST) was started during 2007 under the aegis of Sri Venkateswara Educational Society, Kadapa, A.P. The Institute was started with the four programs at U.G level viz., Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE), Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), having an intake of 60 students in each branch of Engineering. At present the Institute offers five U.G programs and three P.G programs. The programs are Civil Engineering (CE), Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE), Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) and Mechanical Engineering with an intake of 60 students in each U.G program, and Electronics and Communication Engineering (M.TECH), Computer Science and Engineering M.TECH) with an intake of 18 students and also Master of Business Administration (MBA) with an intake of 60 students. SVIST is located on Kadapa – Pulivendala highway in a sprawling campus spread over an area of 23 acres set in sylvan surroundings.

Principal’s Message:

Education is the great engine of personal development. It is through education that the daughter of a peasant can become a doctor, that the son of a mine worker can become the head of the mine, that a child of farm workers can become the president of a great nation. It is what we make out of what we have, not what we are given, that separates one person from another - Nelson Mandela

We at SVIST, committed to impart value-based education and transform the students into good citizens of India, and comply with National Education Policy- 2020. In the wake of technological advances, of late, many unskilled jobs are taken away by machines, and hence the world is in dire necessity of skilled workforce. The academia has greater responsibility and significant role to cope up with the situation. SVIST is working towards overall development of the students and making the students industry-ready to suit in the present scenario. We are adopting out-come based education system and the teaching-learning process is student-centric. The students are specially trained in cutting-edge technologies and contemporary skills, and making them the upright persons in the job market. The students are also carved out to become entrepreneurs. We are contemplating the establishment of Centre of Excellence (CoE) of reputed I.T companies and other organizations.

Chairman’s Message: Er. R. Sai Sharan Reddy

“We want the education by which character is formed, strength of mind is increased, the intellect is expanded, and by which one can stand on one’s own feet.” –
Swami Vivekananda

SVIST was established and is being run as a philanthropic institute. The motto of starting the Institute is to promote higher education and particularly technical education with a perspective of helping the weaker sections of the society.

The budding engineers in our country are less exposure to the state-of-the-art technology and contemporary skills which is attributed to technical graduates’ poor employability skills and entrepreneurship spirit. Hence, our country is badly in need of technical graduates equipped with employability skills. Since the inception of SVIST, the infrastructure and laboratories are developed/established and updated from time to time, and thereby providing on campus the teaching-learning environment which is in vogue. The Management is committed to the overall development of the students of SVIST and live up to the expectations of all the stakeholders. Also, it is aimed at standing in top 100 engineering colleges in nirf ranking. We wish to transform this Institute into a deemed to be university and globally competitive.
